Welcome to the website of the Yarra Pistol Club!

The Yarra Pistol Club is dedicated to the sport of pistol shooting, and the enjoyment thereof. The Club's origins date back to the foundation of the Dandenong Pistol Club in February 1956, which later split into two clubs.

The Club is located in the picturesque country surroundings of Lysterfield. We have nine ranges set up for various types of pistol competition shooting. Members are welcome to use the ranges for target shooting practice. The ranges are open air, with all of the shooting bays under cover. We also have an indoor range for air pistol shooting, with automated target set-up and retrieval.

Safety regulations are strictly adhered to. All members and visitors must adhere to the Club's safety rules at all times, whilst on and off the ranges.

The Club is a non-profit organisation, run by volunteers for the benefit of the membership, with a Committee elected to oversee the functioning of the Club. Members are expected to participate in occasional working bees, in order to maintain the upkeep of the Club (those unable to do so will be required to pay a fee in lieu).

The ranges are available 7 days a week for the use of Club Members (see the latest Club Calendar for competition times).
The Club's office hours are 2pm to 4pm on Saturdays only.
The Club Rooms are open each Saturday, with bar trading hours from 4pm to 6pm (pistols are not allowed into the club rooms).

People interested in entering into the sport of pistol shooting are encouraged to join the Club. Anyone who is of good character can join the Club; naturally, membership is subject to the approval of the Club Committee, an official police check, and in accordance with current firearm legislation - joining procedures are actually quite straight forward, and can all be explained by the Club Secretary (see Membership information for further details).

New members are welcome.
